Strengthening Arts And Social Sciences Education Through Integration Of Cyberspace: A Paradigm Shift For Sustainable Development

Adeleke, R.s.

ABSTRACT

The present nature of African society necessitates the application of the modern technology for educational sustainable development. This new trend is all-encompassing as it cuts all over all facets of education. It involves the use of the new e-innovations into the teaching and learning of humanity studies such as history, religions and philosophy. Thus, integrating the use of modern technology is highly essential in the teaching and learning of the arts and Social sciences education in this computer age. This work aims at exploring how germane it is for the teaching professionals of the disciplines to imbibe the use of the cyberspace (MIS and ICT) as media of impacting the teachings of the subjects to the students both at the secondary and higher institution levels. Interviews, documented manuscripts and related texts are used as the primary and secondary data to carry out this study. The work is expository and exploratory. Recommendations are put forward for the students, tutors of the disciplines as well as the society at large as mechanisms to advance on the teaching and learning of the Arts and Humanity studies as parts of the core needs for actualisation of the African sustainable development.
